Andy Green appeared in four games for the New York Mets in 2009. He went 1-4 with a walk in five plate appearances. The Mets went 70-92 finishing in fourth place that season.
Also on that Mets roster were David Wright, Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, and Johan Santana.
It was the first season the Mets played at Citifield and it was a debacle. It was in the midst of the Jerry Manuel Era, after the firing of Willie Randolph during the 2008 season, and the many, many roster moves of Omar Minaya. The names that came and went are just a clear reminder of how frustrating it was.

While at the University of Miami, Alan honed his craft covering the, gulp, Yankees during spring trainings in Fort Lauderdale for a local NBC affiliate, as well as the Associated Press and UPI. He broadcasted baseball games for the University of Miami, and spring training games for the Baltimore Orioles and Montreal Expos. New York Mets Mania is a forum for Alan to write about his favorite team and for baseball fans to chime in and provide their thoughts and ideas about New York's Amazin' Mets.
